By Gian Carlo Menotti
Join the Viterbo music department as they present two one-act operas. The Medium tells the sinister story of Madame Flora, her daughter, and a mute servant boy. During a forged séance, the intoxicated Madame Flora feels a phantom hand around her throat, and the subsequent events lead to a dramatic and shocking conclusion. In the vintage story of The Telephone, Ben makes several attempts at Lucy’s apartment to interrupt her telephone conversations with her friends in order to propose to her. His last attempt comes as he leaves the apartment and decides to phone Lucy from a telephone booth.
